Alden Curtis Kuchta was born April 3, 2009 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital to Jennifer and Shawn Kuchta of Hollister. He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces.

Devin Eduardo Zendejas was born April 13, 2009 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital to Deanna and Daniel Zendejas of Hollister. He weighed 9 pounds, 4 ounces.

Justin Painter

Air Force Airman Justin A. Painter graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Mark Painter of Texas, and Colleen Lapari of Hollister. Painter is a 2008 graduate of Klein Oak High School, Spring, Texas.

Bryson Bailey

Bryson Bailey has made the Dean’s Honors List for winter quarter 2009, College of Science and Mathematics, at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. A student is qualified by taking 12 or more graded units and earning a grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Bryson is the son of Garry and Brooke Bailey of Morgan Hill.

John Sosa

Army Reserve Spc. John Sosa, of Gilroy, was invited to Washington, D.C. to reenlist in the U.S. Capitol April 23. Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz, Chief, Army Reserve, administered the oath of office.

Sosa is a human resources specialist for the Army Reserve’s 80th Training Command in Dublin.
