â–  Yes. Temporarily and as long as it prevents further lay-offs.

â–  Mmm … tough one. They’re already getting those amounts and benefits with an agreement. Should curb future increases.

â–  No. They need to be prudent with the union and with future raises and benefits, as all well run companies need to do regularly. It would be difficult to take away what is already in place, and employee evaluations must be honest about work performance, not just loyalty and seniority.

â–  Yes. All units need to be ready to scale back to preserve budget, services,and jobs.

â–  Yes, I think they should reduce the salaries of those employees that recently received a raise.

■ No. Not unless they are out of other options. We have a significant loss of talent from the recent layoffs. Current employees are asked to cover for this loss – they are working harder than ever.

â–  Yes, especially those who received raises after the budget crisis was revealed and layoffs began.
