Anritsu locked up the Men’s Fall EE Softball League title Thursday by outlasting Claddagh Brew Crew 27-14 at Las Animas Park.

While Anritsu moved to 7-0, No Soup 4 You dipped to 5-2 with an 18-4 loss to the Sweepers.

Matt Elston ignited the Anritsu offense with a three-run home run, two RBI-triples and an RBI-single. Ponch Flores went 4-for-4 and scored four Anritsu runs. Rich Gallardo went 4-for-4 for Claddagh.

The Sweepers jumped to a 9-2 lead by the second inning on the way to the upset of No Soup 4 You. John Arde and Joe Benevides each struck for four hits for the Sweepers. Kris Orre helped the winners with a homer, double and single. Ralph Ortiz scored two Soup runs.

Gilroy Thunder rolled by Cross Ministries 35-17 as Jesse Moore, Dan DeLaCruz, Mike Brantner and Ron Aleshire each scored five runs. Moore and Brantner each finished with six hits. Julian Gomez hit two home runs and a sacrifice fly for Cross Ministries.

VFW Bingo moved into a tie for first place in the Men’s E League with Burch Please at 5-2 with a 22-10 nod over the Lost Boyz Thursday at Christmas Hill Park.

Julio Zavala hit a two-run triple to help VFW Bingo to 10 runs in the fifth inning. Adam Kirkpatrick went 4-for-4 and Stephen Jeske added a homer and two doubles for the winners. Bryce Wilson went 4-for-4 for the Lost Boyz.

The Loco Boys surprised Burch Please 18-12 as Aljay Davis produced a homer, triple and single. Daniel Vasquez went 4-for-5. Anthony Lozano went 4-for-4 for the 5-2 losers.

Trevino Brothers is 4-3 in third place after a 14-9 victory over the God Squad. Mark Guajardo homered and Steve Murnin scored three runs for the Builders. Steve Facio scored three God Squad runs.

Out 2 Play improved to 6-0 in Co-Rec Fall League play Sunday at Las Animas with a 15-13 win over Hi-Energy Networks. Pelon Alvarez hit a triple and two singles, scoring two Play runs. John Trennery went 4-for-4, Jordan Regallo 3-for-3 for Hi-Energy (3-3).

Anritsu topped En Tu Cara 15-5 to leave both clubs at 2-4. Aaron Miller and Dave Soto each scored four Anritsu runs. Johnny Bueno went 2-for-2 with two RBI for En Tu Cara.
