Three local teams learned their Central Coast Section postseason fates this weekend, and now know what is ahead with the playoffs are set to begin.
The Mission Trail Athletic League champion Christopher High field hockey team drew the eighth seed and will host No. 9 Leigh High School on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Gilroy High School. A Cougars victory in their postseason debut will earn them a date with No. 1-seed Los Gatos on Saturday.
Also into the field hockey bracket is Gilroy High, which was slotted as the No. 3-seed. The Mustangs, who have played in the last two CCS finals – finishing runner-up in both – have a bye into the quarterfinals. They will play the winner of the No. 6 Cupertino/No. 11 Presentation matchup.
Christopher High’s girls volleyball team, the Monterey Bay League Pacific Division champions, will make its postseason debut Wednesday night as the No. 7-seed in the Division III bracket
The Cougars welcome No. 10 Saratoga to CHS at 7 p.m.
