Masami Tony Yamaoka July 24, 1928 – August 16, 2012

Masami Tony Yamaoka , a native of Watsonville and lifelong resident of San Benito County died at the age of 84 years on August 16, 2012. A row crop and apple farmer for over 60 years, Tony was a member of the San Benito County J.A.C.L; San Benito County Howa Kai; the Watsonville Buddhist Temple; Leslie L. Garrett Post, VFW of San Juan Bautista; the American Legion Post of Hollister; and was a Veteran of the Korean War.
 Tony enjoyed sports and especially the S. F. Giants. He was a quiet man and a man of few words, said his family.
 Surviving Tony is his wife Ruby Yamaoka of Hollister; his daughter Joni Yamaguchi (Mark) of Salinas and his son Craig Yamaoka (Monica) of Hollister; grandchildren Ryan ,Michelle, Julia, Colette, Simone, and Paul; his brothers Henry Yamaoka (late Helen) and Benny Yamaoka (Carolyn); sister Ritsuko Kowaki (late Glenn) and nieces and nephews.
  Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Thursday, August 23, 2012,  at 2:00 P.M.,. at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister. Interment, San Juan District Cemetery.
