Born Jan. 26, 1913, to Rodney and Anna Alger, she graduated from Los Angeles County School of Nursing and was a registered nurse at Los Angeles County Hospital for 20 years, serving as President of the Los Angeles Nursing Association.

After moving to Gilroy 28 years ago, she was a surgical nurse at Santa Clara County Hospital – formerly known as Valley Medical Center – for 20 years.

She was very active in retirement and was a member of Gilroy Ladies Club, Flower Lovers’ Club, Fabulous Flappers, ACBC Bridge Club, and Friday Bridge. She was an avid golfer, golfing into her early eighties, was a member of Hill Country Club, Gavilan Golf Club, and PW Golf Club, and had a great love for goats which she raised for years.

She is survived by her children, Roy Reime, Bill Puckett and Elaine Catlin all of Gilroy; stepson, Gary Reime of Escondido; six grandchildren, including Brenden Puckett of Sacramento; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Reime was preceded in death by her siblings Rodney Alger and Dorothy Footitt.

A memorial gathering will be held for family and friends at her home, Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 3pm.

Arrangements are under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
