HONORS: San Benito Stage Company awards scholarships: This year, the San Benito Stage Company established a new scholarship program. SBSC was able to award two scholarships to graduating high school seniors. The inspiration for the scholarships was due to a $500 annual gift from Paul King in memory of his son Dave King, a former participant with SBSC. The board of directors of San Benito Stage Company voted to match the gift and set up a second annual $500 scholarship.
The recipient of the 2012 Dave King Memorial Scholarship was Natasha Parkin from San Benito High School. She will attend UCLA this fall. The recipient of the San Benito Stage Co. Alumni Scholarship was Samantha Santos, also from San Benito High School. She will attend San Diego State University this fall.
