Franco Imports held off Louie & the Outlaws 19-16 to move into sole possession of first place at 2-0 in the seven-team Men’s Fall DD League at Las Animas Park on Tuesday.
Danny Sandoval hit two singles in the first inning as Franco Imports took an 8-1 lead. Louie & the Outlaws rallied to take a 16-15 lead in the fifth inning. Mike Ahmed and Gilbert Salgado each hit a run-scoring single as Franco locked up the win with four runs in the sixth inning.
Sandoval went 4-for-4 to take game batting honors. Andrew Mokres delivered two doubles and a single for the Outlaws.
The Gilroy VFW Vets stopped Walton & Sons Masonry 10-6 to leave both teams at 1-1.
Ali Aryanpour went 3-for-3 and Sunny Rai went 2-for-3 and scored two Vet runs. Albert Vegas stroked two triples and a single for Walton & Sons.
Nate Tenorio homered in a 4-for-4 showing as Victory Outreach defeated Prime Exterminators 23-8. Josh Wettergreen went 4-for-4 and Kawika Palacios scored four runs for Victory Outreach. Israel Vasquez powered two triples and a double for Prime Exterminators.
Players-HD Auto Glass is 2-0 alone atop the Men’s Fall D League after defeating Feather Haven 12-8 in eight innings Wednesday at Las Animas.
Rhino Souza hit an RBI-double as the Players scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning. Dave Newton went 3-for-3 and scored three Player runs. Jesse Nunez scored two runs and Eric Keen doubled and singled for Feather Haven (1-1).
Dirty Vatos poured across six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to upset AG Construction 12-11, leaving both teams at 1-1.
Marcus Gaeta hit a three-run home run in the seventh to leave the Vatos down 11-9. David Sotelo hit a game-tying single, then scored the winning on a Julian Tellez single. Ryan Dequin and Sean Subia each secured four hits for the losers.
Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors topped Battle Brothers 11-2 behind a triple and two singles from Benji Sanchez. Joe Cano and Gilbert Cano scored the Battle Brothers runs.
Alicia Noriega singled home Ami Perez in the bottom of the seventh to earn Kalai Kraze a 7-6 Women’s Fall League win over Station 55 Wednesday at Christmas Hill Park.
Noriega added a solo home run and Dora Olivares doubled and singled for the 2-0 Kraze. Chrissy Ivory went 3-for-4 and scored twice for Station 55.
Corey’s Girls moved to 2-0 with a 19-11 victory over Pops’ Gals. Denae Tomasovich, Angelica Garcia and Eva Neibel each provided a double and two singles for Corey’ Girls. Shawna Snakenberg doubled and singled for Pops’ Gals.
