This week, police responded to several incidents of stolen cars, burglaries and assaults. Here are a few of those incidents:Â
Man passed out in stolen car
Steven Spille, 27 of San Jose, was found passed out in a vehicle in the parking lot of 7-11 on Leavesley at 1:51 a.m. on Sept. 7. The car was running. When police ran a check of the vehicle he was in, a gold Mazda Protégé, they learned it was stolen. Spille was also found with burglary tools such as bolt cutters, wire hangers and a punch pen, methamphetamine paraphernalia and a stun gun. He was arrested for being in possession of a stolen car, burglary tools and for being a felon in possession of a weapon. He was taken to Santa Clara County Jail. Â
Suspect allegedly stole jack to fix stolen car
At 1:34 p.m. on Sept. 7, police responded to a call about a car jack theft on the 400 block of La Sierra. Police found a suspect walking in the area, was using a car jack to work on a vehicle. The vehicle, a 2012 white Toyota Matrix, was found to be stolen. The man, Robert Esparza, 22 of Gilroy, was also found with a half of a gram of meth, a glass smoking pipe and a shaved ignition key. He was taken to Santa Clara County Jail without incident.Â
Teen assault
A juvenile suspect allegedly attacked a 13-year-old boy with a screwdriver during a spat in front of Togo’s Sandwiches on the 1300 block of First Street. The victim endured minor injuries. The case is under investigation, but does not appear to be gang related, according to Police Sgt. Chad Gallacinao.Â
 Domestic assault arrest
Hector Deleon, 39 of Gilroy, was arrested on the 700 block of Wisteria Drive at 9:52 p.m. on Sept. 11 after he allegedly punched his wife several times before sitting on her, grabbing her neck and threatening to kill her. He was arrested for felony spousal abuse, false imprisonment and criminal threats and taken to Santa Clara County Jail without incident. Â
 Armed robbery at Walmart
Lisa Solis, 31 of Gilroy, and a male accomplice were caught stealing various clothing items, electronics and medications from Walmart on Camino Arroyo. Solis was arrested, but the man she was with got away after he whipped out a knife, threatened to stab loss prevention and fled on foot before police arrived. Police have identified the suspect, and is wanted for robbery, burglary. The case has also been referred to the suspect’s parole officer.Â
