Rocky Horror Picture Show hits Gav stage

Gilroy – Just because Susan Sarandon and Tim Curry couldn’t make it to Gavilan College Theater’s production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.

To explain the plot of Rocky Horror would be too confusing. The basics: An alien transvestite mad doctor living in Translyvania creates the perfect man, and somewhere along the line a hunchback henchman, tap-dancing groupie and two confused American teenagers wander throughout the story. There may even be singing plants.

Think you couldn’t possibly enjoy this science fiction musical?

Be experimental.

Actors from Gilroy, Morgan Hill and Hollister take the stage April 22, 23, 29 and 30 at 8pm.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and $8 for children under 12.

Burglary suspect flees MH laundromat

Morgan Hill – The owner of a local laundromat was fortunate to escape injury during an attempted burglary of his business Sunday morning, police said.

The owner of Laundryland in Tennant Station shopping center unlocked the front door of the business about 6:50am and noticed several of the interior doors open.

As he opened the door to the storage room, he realized the door had hit someone. The suspect, holding a pry bar, then walked out of the store, Morgan Hill Police Lt. Joe Sampson.

The suspect was last seen running away.

The owner drove to the police station to make the report.

“It has the potential to be a very dangerous situation,” Sampson said Monday. “You cannot predict how a suspect will act, and many times they are actually armed.”

The suspect apparently used the pry bar in an attempt to get into the change machine, but he was not successful.

Sampson said the suspect likely entered the building through a roof vent.

The suspect was described as a white male, 30-35 years old, 6’2″ and 230 pounds and wearing a red cap.

Anyone with information about the attempted burglary or the suspect may call police at 779-2101.
