Enterprise Rent-A-Car Promotes Manager

Gilroy – Enterprise Rent-A-Car has named Sara Gomez Branch Manager for the Gilroy location. She will be responsible for managing operations at the Daily Rental Branch and will be reporting to Eric Borgomini, Area Rental Manager.

Gomez started with Enterprise in December of 2003 as a management trainee in city of industry. She is a graduate of San Jose State University.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car operates more than 800,000 rental and fleet services vehicles worldwide and has annual revenues of more than $8.2 billion. Its California operation, with nearly 800 locations, is the company’s largest region and the leader in its market. Last year, Enterprise opened more than 500 new locations, increasing its total locations to more than 6,000 in the nation. Enterprise is currently number 16 on the Forbes “500 Largest Private Companies in America” list.

Articulate Solutions Wins International Design Award 

Gilroy – Articulate Solutions announces its receipt of a prestigious 2006 Davy Award. The Davey Awards, given for outstanding visual arts, were announced by the International Academy of the Visual Arts Nov. 9.

The annual International Davey Awards honors the achievements of the “Creative Davids” who derive their strength from big ideas, rather than big budgets. Articulate Solutions won a Silver for their Kokoro™ Candles packaging design. This is the third major award Articulate Solutions has received for this design project.

TiVo Posts Narrower 3Q Loss

San Jose – TiVo Inc. posted a narrower third-quarter loss Wednesday as the maker of digital video recorders gained a modest number of new subscribers amid tough competition.

The company projected a net loss of $33 million to $38 million in its fiscal fourth quarter due to greater hardware rebates in the holiday shopping season. It expects service and technology revenue of $54 million to $55 million.

“Given our efforts to differentiate TiVo, we are pleased that we were able to build momentum relative to last year,” said Tom Rogers, TiVo’s chief executive, citing how TiVo gained 101,000 additional subscribers for its standalone DVR machines in the quarter.
