Gilroy’s Alex Benavides leaps to home plate to score the winning run against Christopher Tuesday.

Christopher had clawed its way back into the game against Gilroy, tying the game with three runs in the fifth and two more runs in the seventh but it was the Mustangs who got the big hit.
The Mustangs rallied for two runs in the sixth and walked off in the seventh for the second win over their crosstown rivals at home this season.
Max Pierce got the big hit, driving a double to deep right field to score Alex Benavides with no outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Benavides had singled to lead off the inning for his first hit of the day.
Gilroy scored runs int he first, third and fourth innings for a 3-0 lead when Christopher rallied for three runs int he fifth to tie the game.
After being held scoreless in the fifth, the Mustangs answered in the bottom of the sixth inning with two runs to go up 5-3 heading into the final inning.
Christopher staged a second rally in the top of the seventh.
Bryan Anum led off the seventh with a single followed by walks to Andrew Kachel and Michael Anchez to load the bases with one out.
Anum scored when John Newman was hit by a pitch followed by Billy Mazotti hitting a sacrifice fly to score Kachel.
Anub scored two runs int he game, including one  in the pivitol fifth when he reached on a fielder’s choice to load the bases.
A walk to Isaiah Ahumada and a two-run error hit by Newman tied the game at three all.
Gilroy retook the lead on a sacrifice bunt from Dylan Hsu to drive in Daniel Colmer and Nolan Felipe.
Pierce got the win, going two innings of relief and helping his own cause after giving up the tying run in the seventh.
