Gilroy – South Valley Imaging (SVI), Gilroy’s only free-standing medical diagnostic imaging center, recently welcomed Medical Terminology students from Gavilan College for an inside look at its OPEN MRI, Multi-Slice CT and Ultrasound capabilities.

Highly trained SVI technicians gave demonstrations of the OPEN MRI, which is especially comfortable for claustrophobic patients, children, and larger patients, and the CT. Students also had an opportunity to see how a technician can manipulate high-resolution images to show tumors and other abnormalities.

Instructor Doris Knapp said the students come from San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy and Hollister; many are exploring careers as medical assistants, diagnostic imaging technicians, and nurses.

“South Valley Imaging is pleased to be a member of the Gilroy community and welcomes opportunities to support its educational institutions and the community as a whole,” said Dr. Aaron Hayashi, President.  “Our goal is to provide the highest quality medical imaging services possible to the South Valley community.”

South Valley Imaging is located in Dry Creek Village in Gilroy.
