The Rotary Club will be conducting its annual Speech Contest on
Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Elk’s Lodge. The contest is open to
students grades 9-12 who attend Gilroy High School or are a
resident of Gilroy and attend a private school.

The Rotary Club will be conducting its annual Speech Contest on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Elk’s Lodge. The contest is open to students grades 9-12 who attend Gilroy High School or are a resident of Gilroy and attend a private school.

The Rotary Club will host the club level contest which will determine winning contestants to advance to the Area level. The Area level contest includes the winning contestants from Morgan Hill, Hollister, Salinas and San Juan Bautista.

The theme is “Service Above Self – Because We Care.” Each student may chose any topic he or she feels is of interest, as long as the content of the speech relates to the theme and incorporates at least on of the principles of the 4-Way Test.
