Garage Door and Pizza N’ Stuff will settle the first-half title in the Gilroy Community Services Department program tonight at Solorsano Gym at 9pm. New Hope Community Church and Toto’s Stingers collide at 8pm for the first-half DD pennant.
Blair Wortham poured in 17 points to ignite the Morgan Hill Garage Door attack. Sig Reynisson provided 11 points from the point guard spot. Miguel Gillard paced the Pizza N’ Stuff offense with 26 markers.
CordeValle completed the D first half at 3-3 with a 40-36 edging of Headstart. Danny Crowe and Scott Adams each scored nine points for the winners, Carlos Guerrero and Shannon Farrington eight apiece for Headstart.
Phillip Terry struck for 15 points and Donny Gooding hit for 14 as Toto’s Stingers defeated New Cope Community Church 58-42 Monday, leaving both at 4-2. Erick Valverde scored 15 points fir New Hope.
New Hope Community Church clinched at least a share of the first-half DD title by stopping Handmade Healthcare 66-33 Wednesday at Solorsano Gymnasium.
Valverde dropped in five three-point field goals on the way to 19 points as New Hope improved to 4-1 atop the five-team league. Vance Lee struck for 15 points, Michael Vanni 11 for the winners.
Isaac Gonzalez paced the 1-5 Healthcare attack with 10 points. Brit Bigelow followed with eight points.
Gilroy Young Plants knocked Toto’s out of first place with a 47-38 decision.
Ed Saunders poured in 11 points, Andrew Edwards tallied 10 and Joel Goldsmith hit for nine for the 3-3 Plants. Dean Friend led Toto’s with nine points.
New Hope added a 52-42 nod over Rocha’s Drywall Tuesday. Vanni erupted for 19 points, Andrew Moon 10 for the league leaders. Enrique Dalmo ignited the Drywall with 13 points. Brice Hall managed 11 for 3-3 Rocha’s.
Bigelow scored 10 points Monday as Handmade turned back Gilroy Young Plants 48-45. Regan Cole and Mike Kachel each scored 11 Plant points.
Headstart Nursery handed Pizza N’ Stuff its first loss in Men’s D play Tuesday, 65-59. Andrew Matthews led the winners with 18 points. Robert Lemmon scored 14 and Shannon Farrington provided 11 for the winners. Jose Mendoza and Mark Cisneros each scored 15 points for 4-1 Pizza N’ Stuff.
CordeValle upset Morgan Hill Garage Door 48-47 in overtime, leaving the Doors second at 3-2. Danny Crowe mustered 19 points, Chris Vigilante 14 and Patrick Chiacalonte 10 for the Duffers. Joe Wortham led the Doors with 10.
Flash finished the half with a 6-0 Men’s DDD mark after a 48-42 victory over GC Farms Wednesday. Steve Connor scored 17 points and Asa Saito contributed 14 to the Flash cause. Mike Yoshita paced GC Farms with 14 points.
The Eagles went 4-2 for the half by defeating Corde Ball’n 55-49. Al Angulo popped in 16 points, Jesus Perez 15 and Daniel Fauss 13 for the Eagles. Michael Moore erupted for 21 Corde Ball’n points.
