New manager at Wal-Mart
Gilroy – Janis Mayrell has been named store manager of the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Gilroy. Mayrell has 32 years of retail experience and began her duties as store manager on May 27.
Mayrell replaces Ken Higgins, who recently retired from Wal-Mart.
As part of Wal-Mart’s commitment to improving the communities it serves, Mayrell plans to participate in the Chamber of Commerce and pursue other civic-minded opportunities in Gilroy.
Mayrell and her husband, David, have three sons, Joseph, Michael, and Andrew.

Articulate Solutions awarded
Gilroy – Articulate Solutions received two 2006 Silver Summit Awards for its acclaimed design work.
The company was acknowledged for its cutting-edge Kokoro Candles packaging design as well as its logo design work for Glen Loma Ranch. While both of these projects have received previous acknowledgement through industry awards programs, the Summit Awards is the premier program for small to medium design companies.
