Jamaela Alhadi, a missing 16-year-old who ran away Sept. 7 from
her Gilroy home, returned to her family on Friday according to her
brother, Dee Alhadi, 23.
Gilroy – Jamaela Alhadi, a missing 16-year-old who ran away Sept. 7 from her Gilroy home, returned to her family on Friday according to her brother, Dee Alhadi, 23.
“My sister is home and her overall health is okay,” he wrote in an email. “We took her immediately to O’Connor Hospital in San Jose.”
Jamaela is a home school student enrolled in Ocean Grove Charter School, which is based in Placerville.
During her 9-day absence, Dee’s family made fliers, posted notices on Jamaela’s Facebook page, filed a report with the Gilroy Police Department and reached out to the Dispatch in attempts to pinpoint her whereabouts.
Dee said the family plans on seeking help from a rehab clinic for minors, and plans to continue to “pursue the finding of Eric Bueno.”
Last week, Alhadi suspected his younger sister was in company of a 33-year-old man named Eric Bueno, who lived next door to the Alhadis on the 9000 block of Desert Bloom Place.
Dee said Jamaela used to baby-sit for Bueno, who Dee said is married with children.
The Alhadis have since moved Aug. 24 from that address, and now reside on Ervin Court off Monterey Road.
