It’s Valentine’s month. Make plans today for a Feb. 14 bicycle ride with your sweetheart!
Thanks for all the positive feedback on last month’s column regarding weight loss resolutions. As promised, I have my 2024 progress ready for you. Keep in mind, however, that I must submit my monthly columns on the 16th of the month preceding publication. My progress as of the middle of January: 5.2 pounds lost!
I set a weight loss goal of 5 pounds a month, so I’m excited about my success so far. Remember, goals need to be reasonable, and there are no quick fixes out there. Oh, and never let temporary setbacks cause you to give up. I appreciate all of your positive thoughts and prayers; I’ll continue to do the same for you!
Can’t wait for the nearby spring event rides? Considering racking up your bikes and heading off to Linden on the 24th. The Pedaling Paths to Independence is a wonderful Central Valley ride, featuring routes of 26 and 65 miles. Proceeds benefit Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Oh, and did I mention that the rides begin and end at De Vinci’s Ravioli Factory? You can thank me later.
Recently, I was exploring the Arrowhead Loop Trail at the Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve, just north of Morgan Hill. What a beautiful one-way loop for equestrians, hikers and mountain bikers; I highly recommend it! Just remember to use bike bells, yield to horses and hikers, and never ride faster than you can brake, especially around blind turns.
