Dear Editor,
I am writing to voice my strong support to re-elect Bob Kraemer
to the Gilroy Unified School District Board of Trustees. I know
first-hand of Bob’s contributions, as we served together on the
board for three years. Bob has no personal agenda; his wish is to
serve all of the students and families of GUSD to the best of his
ability.
Dear Editor,

I am writing to voice my strong support to re-elect Bob Kraemer to the Gilroy Unified School District Board of Trustees. I know first-hand of Bob’s contributions, as we served together on the board for three years. Bob has no personal agenda; his wish is to serve all of the students and families of GUSD to the best of his ability.

Bob’s professional background is in project management, and he constructively brings these skills to the table. He has exceptional leadership skills in design, planning, budget and facilities. He is an open communicator, but is careful with confidential/sensitive information. He keeps the end goal (maximum success for all students) in mind when making decisions, and readily contributes to the process and steps it will take to get there.

This is extremely important for the district at this time. Although GUSD is struggling with many of the same obstacles as other districts, Superintendent Edwin Diaz has a Board-supported plan with rigorous goals in place and the district has made steady progress towards achieving these goals over the last four years.

In that time the board has had to deal with serious state budget deficits, personnel turnover and increased federal and state mandates. Yet the district has maintained a positive budget (many districts have not), passed a bond in order to provide safe and healthy facilities for all students and achieved steady progress on academic achievement measurements (district and state). Bob’s input has been instrumental. It would be disastrous for the district to lose focus or become disjointed at this critical time. Bob has been a part of consistent results, and I urge you to join me in voting for him on Nov. 2.

Lonna Martinez, Gilroy, former GUSD Board member
