A Vote for Hillary Paves the Way for a Socialist Wave in America

Dear Editor,

I see that nanny-state advocate Daniel Garcia is at it again (letters, 8/16), this time showing his advanced case of “The Wizard of Oz” syndrome. Garcia rattles off that “She [Hillary] is the best politician in the world today.” Obviously, he’s been fooled (again) by looking at the “face on the wall” (i.e. the Wizard of Oz) while missing the fact that the face was an image of no substance.

Hillary Clinton is a pure socialist now masking the image as a progressive – an evolutionary change from her formative years when Marxism was a very important part of her ideology. When you look in detail at her ideas on health and education, you see more government and less individual control. In fact, in her book “It Takes a Village” she says the future is not the family but the larger village of teachers, pediatricians and social workers. She talks about raising children as less of a parental task than a social one, government orchestrated and directed.

The logical extension of that philosophy is the destruction of the family unit, a basic goal of socialism and Marxism. In Garcia’s fantasy world, this “smart, clever, shrewd, statesman, world-leader” is someone who you just “can’t help but like”. Well Daniel, dream on. There are plenty of people who don’t like her one bit, because she, like most Democrat-Socialists are pure phonies who will bend with whichever way the political wind is blowing to achieve their socialist political goals to weaken the United States. Politicians they are, NOT public servants.

Mountain Lion Trouble? Here’s How to Decide Where and Who to Call

Dear Editor,

South County residents should always call 9-1-1 when there is an imminent public health and safety concern regarding mountain lions. The local Sheriff’s Office or respective police department will always respond to these type of high priority calls along with state fish and game.

If people have questions about mountain lions, or need to obtain a depredation permit, then state fish and game should be contacted first, as they are the primary agency which deals with wildlife issues. State fish and game can be reached at (831) 649-2870.

Animal control has no jurisdiction regarding incidents with wildlife, they only deal with domestic animal problems and/or care.

Deputy Gabriel Sandoval with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Rural Agriculture and Livestock Crimes Unit is also available to answer questions about mountain lions. He can reached through the South County Sheriff’s Patrol Substation at (408) 686-3650, during normal business hours; a voice message can be left after hours.
