Adela S. Chapa

ADELA S. CHAPA passed away suddenly at home in Gilroy Thursday, May 3, 2007. Mother of Joe G. Chapa (Yolanda) of Modesto, CA, Robert Chapa (Leticia) of Gilroy, Rene Chapa (Gloria) & Estella Gonzalez (Baldo), both of Gilroy. Grandmother of Mario, Danny, Laura, Anthony, Robert, Mark, Stevie, Cindy, Maryann, Sally, Rosanne, Janae and the late Gabriel, . great-grandmother of 21, sister of Esmeralda Gonzalez of Texas and the late Nestor Salazar. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Vigil Tuesday, May 8, 2007 – 7:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral Mass Wednesday, May 9, 2007 – 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gilroy. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.

Mrs. Chapa moved to Gilroy in 1961 from Raymondville, Texas and worked at Gubser Garlic before being a Dietitian at Wheeler Hospital until 1980. Member of St. Mary’s Church and a member of the Curisista Movement. She enjoyed being involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
