Dear Editor:

Thank you, Stuart Allen, for your response to my letter, and thank you for acknowledging that you are indeed opposed to civil rights, child labor laws, and fair treatment of the disabled. You have by your own words proven that it is you who have no idea what constitutes “support of the nation and the society,” for to you “general welfare” obviously is framed by the law of the jungle; the “nation” you revere would be a nation of barbarians. Your proud claim to territory outside what most people consider the bounds of civilization will provide the public with a standard by which to determine in future the value of your opinion on any subject. And as to my comments “elevating” you, you’re both flattering and kidding yourself.
