The Monterey Bay League honored 14 Gilroy-area football players with All-Gabilan and All-Pacific Division awards that were announced over the weekend.
Gilroy (2-4 in league play and 3-7 overall) came away with 11 awards among 10 players, including runningback Noe Garcia and wide receiver Tanner Wiggins both being named to the First Team All League for offense.
Tightend Omar Prieto and offensive linemen Will Soares and Victor Sanchez both were named to the Second Team All League.
Soares was also honored with a Sportsmanship award, given to one player from each member school.
Receiving honorable mentions were quarterback Jonathan Castro, runningbacks Antonio Andrade and Anthony Bollendor, defensive lineman Jose Torres and defensive back Nick Perez.
For Christopher, the pickings were slimmer for the 0-6 Cougars (2-8 overall).
Receiver PJ Reichert was the lone First Team All-League recipient, getting named to the First Team All League Offensive Team.
Offensive linemen Jared Huddleston and Brendan Lerma were both named to the Second Team All-League offense.
David Lopez received the team’s Sportsmanship honor.
