Built in 1979, the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford provides a home-away-from-home for families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving treatment at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and other area hospitals. Currently serving over 1,000 families each year, the house offers a warm, supportive atmosphere while maintaining a low room fee of $10 per night. To keep costs to families low, over 85 percent of the operating budget is contributed by generous community members, businesses and foundations.
