"I am replying to Red Phone about the noise cannons on Sept 27. I also live in the area near Roop Road and New Avenue. I have helped farmers in that area mainly with their cherry orchards. The noise cannons are a necessity if you ever have a cherry crop. I don't know if you aware of the cost to put up nets over 2,000 cherry trees.Â
"Every morning I drive south on Monterey Road. And every morning there are several cars turning south onto Monterey from Luchessa Avenue that think that they do not have to stop at the red light before turning right. There have been several incidents where I have had to slam on my brakes or swerve around them. Is it possible to get an officer out there and monitor that intersection in the mornings?"
"I saw in the Dispatch your coverage of the Sept. 11 remembrance. I was just wondering what the policy was as far as professionalism in the way that Gilroy police officers look. One of the officers was pictured with a goatee. Is that the type of professionalism they portray as far as being neat and clean cut? Also what is the standpoint on officers and having their Facebook open to the public and displaying pictures of officers in uniform? How much information are the officers releasing?"
"Hi, I have a friend who is renting a house. She has been living there for eight years. She has been paying rent to the landlord. But the landlord is getting kicked out for not making payments, and my friend has to move as a result. Is there anything she can do like locking up the doors in order to not lose her house."
"I live in the area of New and Roop streets right behind the outlets. There are noise cannons that are blowing from sunrise to sunset absolutely terrorizing the neighborhood dogs. In my particular case, I have a German shepherd who has been terrorized without any break for several weeks on end. I know there are alternatives for scaring these birds off beside making constant noises all day. I am wondering if I am the only one who is going through this hell with my dogs. Is it something that other people are concerned about as well but aren't necessarily doing anything about it? I was going to see if I could get some community action going here to make these folks realize that this noise pollution is unacceptable torture of animals. There are absolutely alternatives for them to keep birds away from their crops. This is a very selfish act on their part in my view and is torture for the animals."
"Hello, I heard the Water District commission did not cut their wages for meetings. I would like to see a breakdown of the board's votes and who voted which way."
