"I am calling about the article about the ground squirrel problem on Sept. 6. You gave incorrect information to the caller who lives in San Martin telling him he cannot shoot lead shot. That is not true. Anywhere west of Highway 101 in Santa Clara County you can still use lead shot. I'm a hunter and I would know."
"Why do our two motorcycle cops hide on the sidewalks and the cemetery? They would better serve by being visible and around schools instead of trying to trap people. Why don't they patrol separately? They don't present a very good image."
"I am of the understanding that people cannot run a visible business out of their garage in a residential area. There is an individual that seems to running a business or a permanent garage sale on Rancho Hills Drive between Valley Oaks Drive and Carriage Drive or thereabouts every weekend. Aren't there any rules about this?"
"Red Phone, we live in the county near San Martin and we're having a big problem with ground squirrels. They are undermining our garage and barn and we're getting concerned as they carry diseases and fleas. We tried to poison them, but in Santa Clara County there's no way to get the poison. We tried shooting them, we tried trapping them, but they are just overwhelming and we can't get a handle on the situation. I'm sure we're not the only ones with this problem. Thanks."
"I am following up on the past articles about Gold's Gym construction. Each time you print something it is a couple months more. That guy took our money more than a year ago promising us a beautiful new gym in a few months. At what point is it a legal issue in that he collected our money with the promise of a new gym. But we just have a little store front gym to go to, which is not what he was selling us. Are there any updates? I don't see any construction going on there. Â Can we get our money back and rejoin when they actually have something to give us. I am curious to see what the owner has to say and what the city has to say."
"I want to complain about the transfer station rates at Recology. For the last two years since I've been using the transfer station location I have never been charged any more than $25 for a load in my mini truck. Earlier this month I was charged $42.50 for a load that was generally smaller than most of my loads. This was yard cuttings, wood and cardboard. This charge was 75 percent more. It is unreasonable. I usually do the right thing by layering and going to each station so that the facility can efficiently handle my debris."
