Anyone who saw a red Volkswagen Jetta with a black hood in north Morgan Hill or south San Jose around the week of March 16 is asked to contact the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, because investigators have linked the vehicle to the disappearance and kidnapping of Sierra LaMar.
For the first time in more than a month, investigators searching for 15-year-old Sierra LaMar reported new leads in the case, and are asking the public to report any sightings of a red four-door sedan with a black hood.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s dive team spent the day Thursday searching Anderson reservoir, the largest reservoir in the county, for any sign of missing teen Sierra LaMar.Â
A 12-year-old Morgan Hill boy who was reported missing late Thursday has been found – shortly after police sent out an automated voice message to alert the public of his disappearance, according to Morgan Hill Police Cadet Victoria Naranjo.

It’s been one month since Sierra LaMar’s parents discovered their 15-year-old Morgan Hill daughter was missing. Tonight, Sierra’s family will hold a special vigil and balloon release at Burnett Elementary, 85 Tilton Ave., at 6:30 p.m. to mark the one-month anniversary.Â
Investigators looking for missing north Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar will continue their efforts to find her by examining sonar images of the depths of local reservoirs taken earlier this week, according to a sheriff’s spokesman.Â
With a $10,000 reward on the line and Bay Area sports stars stepping in to help, the Morgan Hill community continues to hope for a safe return of Sierra LaMar, 15, who has been missing since March 16.
