It is gratifying indeed that our community recognizes the value of a community library – so much so that a continuation of the library parcel tax passed with a whopping 81 percent of the vote. Getting the necessary two-thirds majority to continue the $33.66 per year charge for a single family home was not a problem.
The Morgan Hill Interfaith Council will combine its recognition of the anniversary of the 9/11 attack with a celebration of the International Day of Peace with a public picnic at the city’s Community and Cultural Center amphitheater on Sept. 22, according to Morgan Hill Mayor Steve Tate.
In less than a year the city of Morgan Hill hopes to sign with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection as its new fire and emergency medical services provider, in hopes of saving local taxpayers about $800,000 per year.
