After several challenging years that included drought, mold, unseasonably cool temperatures and even hungry nematodes, 2012 is shaping up to be “pure perfection” and “just wonderful” for many of Santa Clara Valley’s 22 wineries.
Creekview Vineyards is known for their small lot and award-winning wines that are truly “hand-crafted.” Production is very limited – currently they produce 1,200 cases a year of Estate, Bordeaux, Rhone and the classic varietals using the best new French and American oak barrels. Silver medal winners with the San Francisco Chronicle 2012 include new releases, 2009 Syrah, 2009 Old Vine Zinfandel, 2010 Sauvignon Blanc and Chairman's Best of Class, Long Beach Grand Cru, for the 2008 Zinfandel.
Ever since Casa de Fruta planted their first vineyards and orchards in 1908, they’ve been growing. The third-generation Zanger Family welcomes everyone to enjoy their varietal wines and gourmet fruit wines with tasting daily from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
