– The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office identified the man
found dead along Willow Springs Road just west of Hale Road, as
Phil Fahrener, 45, of San Jose.
His death has been labeled as suspicious by Santa Clara County
Sheriff’s Department investigators.
Morgan Hill – The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office identified the man found dead along Willow Springs Road just west of Hale Road, as Phil Fahrener, 45, of San Jose.
His death has been labeled as suspicious by Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department investigators.
The man was sighted Wednesday by a passing motorist at 9:48pm on the rural, two-lane road northwest of the city. The motorist immediately notified authorities. Firefighters, who were first on the scene, pronounced him dead at 9:55pm.
No homes are located in the immediate area.
Deputy Terrance Helm, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said the body was laying on the side of the road in plain view.
The cause of death remains under investigation. Helm said there was no apparent cause. Investigators are attempting to determine if Fahrener died where he was found or elsewhere.
An autopsy was completed Thursday but the cause of death was still listed as “pending” Friday afternoon.
