Cherisse’s Hair Salon will be having a grand opening on May 30 at the new location at 88 East Second, Morgan Hill, between BookSmart and the Chamber of Commerce.
Between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., the public is invited to tour the new salon and enjoy a chocolate fountain and almond champagne. The champagne is being provided by Guglielmo Winery. Cherisse’s Hair Salon was formerly located at 17795 Monterey Rd., Morgan Hill.
Coldwell announces $15,000 grant
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the Bay Area’s largest real estate services company, and the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, a network of community groups devoted to expanding financial access, today announced the award of a $15,000 grant to the California Coalition for Rural Housing to fund community partnerships and initiatives that celebrate neighborhood diversity and promote equal housing opportunity.
The grant will support the efforts of the California Coalition for Rural Housing to launch an Individual Development Account program in partnership with the California Rural Asset Development Network. The Network is comprised of four local organizations in Northern California, including South County Housing in Gilroy.
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s grant will help the local organizations hold community outreach meetings, provide bilingual materials, and mobilize and help low-income households in rural areas of California achieve home ownership.
In total, nine demonstration grants were awarded to community-based organizations in California, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts and Virginia that are NCRC members and dedicated to creating public- and private-sector partnerships and programs that promote racial and cultural equality, opportunity and diversity.
