Loki The Owl’s Birthday Celebration

Join the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center (WERC) from 1 to 3pm for the 17th birthday celebration of Loki, the Great Horned Owl. • “Advance Health Care Directives”on April 16, 23 and 26, from 11am to 12:30pm. Learn how to name a surrogate decision maker and describe how you’d like to be cared for when you can’t speak for yourself.

• A Book Sale from 10am to 1pm.

• Gilroy Writing Project from 2 to 4pm. Cathleen Miller will share her experiences with memoirs, travel writing, and creative nonfiction.

Understand Gay Ones

PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), a support group fostering understanding and acceptance in society will meet at 9:30am, at United Methodist Church of Gilroy.

Raffle For Girl’s Softball

Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) and Sports, a non-profit girl’s softball organization, is selling raffle tickets outside of Nob Hill, 777 First St., from 3 to 7pm on Fridays, 8am to 5pm on Saturdays, 1 to 5pm on Sundays and 3 to 7pm on Mondays in April. Tickets cost $2 each or $5 for 3. Prizes are shopping sprees at Nob Hill in the amounts of $150, $250 and $500. Drawing will be held on May 2. Participants don’t need to be present to win.
