Police arrested a San Martin woman Wednesday on suspicion of stealing thousands of dollars worth of items from a Morgan Hill storage facility – some of which may have been later sold at a nearby garage sale, according to authorities.

About 8 p.m. Tuesday, Morgan Hill police were dispatched to Storage Mart, 18025 Monterey Road, to investigate a prior report of a burglary at the private storage facility, police said. The victim told police about $26,000 worth of property had been stolen. Police did not immediately identify any of the stolen contents.

The police investigation led officers to a home in San Martin, authorities said. A search of the home Wednesday led to the recovery of several of the items stolen from the storage unit, as well as a trailer which had been reported stolen in an unrelated incident.

After finding the stolen items, police arrested Darla Dominguez, 33 of San Martin, at the residence, police said.

Police also determined that some of the items stolen in the Storage Mart incident were “possibly” sold later at a garage sale on the 14000 block of Foothill Avenue in San Martin.

Morgan Hill Police encourage all residents to write down the serial numbers and take photographs of their property, so they can identify the items in the future if they are ever stolen.
