It pays to shop in Morgan Hill
Morgan Hill – Local resident Paige Cisewski is the winner of a $2,000 Shopping Spree, sponsored by the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, participating retailers, and the local Economic Development Partnership. She receives $600 in cash and $100 gift certificates from 14 participating retailers, respectively.
Cisewski is the principal at the Morgan Hill Charter School, and “always” shops Morgan Hill, she says.
Cisewski deposited her winning entry at Caffee Kaffee Vin, 17400 Second Street and Monterey Road, Morgan Hill.
Shop Morgan Hill was a three-month promotion touting the array and benefits of shopping in Morgan Hill. “Chamber Members have voiced a favorable response to the promotion, as well as submitting enthusiastic contributions for making next year’s efforts even more successful,” says Gina Varela-Faust, Chairperson of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce.
Morgan Hill’s sales tax revenues – an indicator of local consumer spending – continued an upward trend going into the promotion, Varela-Faust says. “It will be several months before we have complete measurable results, but it certainly got people thinking about spending their holiday dollars here, first. And that was our goal.”
The Economic Development Partnership is a collaborative effort among the City of Morgan Hill, The Chamber and local businesses, including South Valley National Bank and Gordon Jacoby’s development. The EDP is charged with bringing appropriate new business to town and supporting the city’s existing businesses, as well.
For more information on the EDP, contact the Chamber of Commerce, 408-779-9444.
