Morgan Hill – TBI Construction & Construction Management, Inc. will begin managing construction of the new Morgan Hill Public Library in April. The 28,000-square-foot structure, double the size of the current facility, will incorporate the existing City Hall and existing library buildings into one campus. The $17-million project is a long awaited upgrade for the city’s library services.
The construction of the library is based on redevelopment funding and a citizen’s visioning process that described the type of public facilities the community would like to see in Morgan Hill. Special features include an expanded program room; a new lobby area that conveys a dramatic entrance and will house special displays; a soft seating area in the children’s section where families can read together; an expanded international language area; and new magazine reading area and study rooms.
The back areas of the building are designed to maximize sweeping views of El Toro Mountain. The building is steel superstructure with plaster and stone skin, and an architectural grade metal roof feature. The new library, complete with a new at grade parking lot, is expected to be completed in one year from the start date.
Jim Eagle and Chris Ordaz honored among top brokers
Los Gatos – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage announced Jim Eagle and Chris Ordaz, managing brokers of the company’s respective Morgan Hill and Gilroy offices, have earned the coveted President’s Council award for their offices’ success in 2005.
A Santa Clara County real estate veteran since 1984, Ordaz is the manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Gilroy office.
Prior to being named Manager in the fall of 2002, Ordaz was a top producing real estate professional in Gilroy serving the surrounding communities of Gilroy, Morgan Hill and Hollister.
Ordaz is actively involved with the Gilroy Foundation, Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, Gilroy Garlic Festival and Gilroy Sportsmen Chefs. He is also a past member of the City of Gilroy’s Personnel Commission and former paid-call firefighter with the City of Gilroy.
Ordaz earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Sacramento in 1983.
A native of Gilroy, Ordaz and his wife Kimberly, an elementary school teacher with the Gilroy Unified School District, have two daughters, Kaylyn and Claire.
Eagle is a 35-year Bay Area real estate veteran who oversees 81 of Morgan Hill’s leading real estate professionals. This is the fourth consecutive year Eagle has been honored with the coveted President’s Council designation.
Eagle earned his bachelor’s degree in business and industrial management from San Jose State University. He is also past treasurer of the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors and is an elder of the Presbyterian Church of Morgan Hill.
Eagle earned his Graduate Realtors Institute and Certified Residential Specialist and has completed well over 400 hours of education in real estate law, contracts, exchange counseling and investments. He has also been an active member of the National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors and Santa Clara County Association of Realtors since 1972 and the South County Association of Realtors since 1976.
Eagle resides in Morgan Hill with his wife Polly, a sales associate in Coldwell Banker‚s Morgan Hill office. Both are longtime real estate business partners and have consistently been ranked among the top producing sales professionals in the area.
Learn QuickBooks 2006
Morgan Hill – This workshop is designed for the small business owner who uses or would like to learn how to use QuickBooks 2006. QuickBooks 2006 is one of the most widely used small business accounting software programs available to small business owners.
Learn to manage and reconcile business accounts, write and print checks, keep track of income and expenses, accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, inventory, payroll, purchase orders, estimating and many other bookkeeping tasks that are relevant to run a successful business. Also covered in this workshop, will be the ability to generate essential reports including Profit and Loss, and the Balance Sheet.
This course is a 3-week progressive course that takes you through the very basics of getting your business started to learning how to synchronize your QuickBooks contacts with other contact management programs such as Outlook.
The dates for this workshop series are Tuesday, March 7, 14 and 21, from 6 to 8pm at the Morgan Hill Community Center, 17060 Monterey Road, room 10.
The cost for this 6-hour workshop is $90 payable in advance. Reasonable accommodations will be made upon request for handicapped individuals.
