Big Lots will celebrate its grand opening at 360 East 10th St. on Aug. 29.
The discount retailer, which specializes in furniture and other home goods, is occupying the 27,000-square-foot space previously home to Rite Aid, which closed in early 2019.
The store will reflect a new format, which will be rolled out at other Big Lots stores throughout the nation.
“We are excited to introduce our new store format to Gilroy,” said Joice Wirkus, senior vice president of marketing at Big Lots. “This redesign brings to life our new brand traits and showcases our assortment of affordable solutions in furniture, seasonal, home, food and consumables. We are also very proud to serve alongside the Gilroy community and want our customers to know that we are continuing to invest in bringing them the best shopping experience.”
A part of its grand opening week, Big Lots will provide customers with a coupon upon check out from Aug. 29-Sept. 5.
Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Big Lots is opening its first store in Gilroy. The nearest location is in Watsonville.
