No injuries and minor property damage were reported in a traffic collision in San Martin this afternoon.

A black Toyota Corolla driven by a juvenile male was crossing the intersection of Middle and Columbet avenues when the vehicle was struck by a sport-utility vehicle about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to California Highway Patrol officer J. Struve.

The Corolla was traveling northbound on Columbet Avenue, and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Middle Avenue, Struve said. When the driver proceeded, it collided with a blue Ford Edge that was going westbound on Middle Avenue.

The Corolla ended up in a ditch on the north side of Middle Avenue, with extensive damage to the vehicle’s rear end. The Ford, driven by female adult, suffered moderate damage to the front driver’s side.

The accident is still under investigation, and police do not yet know who was at fault. Struve said it’s possible the drivers “didn’t see each other.”

Neither driver nor any of their passengers were injured in the accident, police said.
