Dear Editor,

As chairman of the Gilroy Planning Commission, Dion Bracco voted against the Mussallem subdivision for historic Miller Avenue. That vote demonstrates that Bracco is the type of person we need sitting on the Gilroy City Council.

Had Bracco been on the council in place of one of the four members who supported Mussallem, the project would have been defeated. That shows you the importance of just one vote!

The Mussallem project is bad for Miller Avenue and bad for Gilroy. It could set a precedent for a whole series of developments which would threaten the character and quality of our neighborhoods. We need more voices in Gilroy like Dion Bracco’s, voices that oppose development that is not consistent with existing neighborhoods and their unique characteristics.

I will cast my vote for Bracco for council on Nov. 8!
