Lora, Sanchez tally two hits each in 8-1 win
GILROY – The Chicks N’ Sticks parlayed 11 hits into an 8-1 win over Dicar Insurance Sunday in Co-Rec League action at Las Animas Park.
Jessica Loza and Benny Sanchez each drilled two hits in a five-run first inning for 2-0 Chicks N’ Sticks. Eric Jimenez and Rico Lopez each singled and scored in the second, Gina Guglielmo in the third.
Katrina Villa singled and scored on an error in the third inning for Dicar Insurance.
Covenant Builders joined Chicks N’ Sticks atop the eight-team league at 2-0 by stopping South Valley Newspapers 15-0.
Corey Casillas went 5-for-5 for Covenant. She drove in four runs and scored once. John Day and Jose Villarreal each mustered three Covenant hits. Lori Stuenkel went 2-for-3 and Dave Steffenson turned an outfield catch into a double play for the Newspapers.
Danny Benz scored four runs to highlight a 16-2 Dutchman’s Pizza-Big Kahunas nod over Rush Order Inc. Rudi Groppe and Kristen Rennard each drove in two Kahunas runs. Danny Pequeno and Doris Kanemura drove across the Rush Order runs.
Team Hair FX snapped a 2-2 tie with four runs in the fourth inning, leading to a 14-2 decision over Mitsubishi Motors.
Vanessa Pena, Jerry Johnston and Tony Maquinalez powered three hits each for Team Hair FX. Paula Young went 2-for-4 for Mitsubishi. Jeff Huang belted a two-run single.
Whitney McDougal socked a two-run home run as Dan Keith Septics (2-0) turned back California Overhead 13-7 in Men’s DDD League play Sunday at Gavilan Sports Park.
Pete Collon went 4-for-4 and Robert Vantassel went 3-for-4 and scored twice for Dan Keith Septics. Dave Gallardo went 3-for-3, Ed DeLeon 3-for-4 for Overhead.
Aladdin Bail Bonds-Rhino Wiring moved to 2-0 by topping Most Wanted 20-4. Pete Osuna homered in a 4-for-4 night. Eric Cantu went 3-for-4 and Mike Hernandez drove in four runs for the winners. Jaime Rosso homered and David Medina went 2-for-3 for Most Wanted (1-1).
The Hitmen used a seven-run second inning to produce a 25-7 victory over Bay Sheets. Isaiah Rodriguez went 5-for-5 with a homer, Jeff Stuck four hits for the Hitmen. Joey Fernandez and Pete Silva notched two hits each for Bay Sheets.
