Dear Editor,
In an article on Saturday, February 25 you compiled movie recommendations from video-rental store employees, Movie Mom and the Parent’s Television Council.
I was surprised to see “Pirates of the Caribbean” made the list – in which humans dissolve into skeletons before your eyes. This movie is never mentioned on the Parent’s Television Council web site (www.parentstv.org).
Other listings are equally as questionable for viewing by young children and I doubt the Parent’s Television Council would approve of how you have lumped them into your mix.
The movie marketers want you to believe a movie can appeal to all audiences. It’s easy for us to expose our youngest to more violence and vulgarity for our own convenience. The reality is they are just as entertained by Dora or Dragontales – much more suitable selections.
