The CHS boys soccer team had a comfortable win over Santa Cruz
while the Cougars basketball squad needed every second to pull out
a one-point triumph over St. Francis-Watsonville.
BOYS SOCCER
Four different Cougars scored for the CHS boys soccer team in a 6-1 win over Santa Cruz on Wednesday.
Christin Manzo went for three goals to lead the offensive attack. David Anaya, Edwin Galieno and Angel Treja also tallied for the Cougars who improve to an impressive 10-2-1 in their first season.
BOYS BASKETBALL
The CHS boys basketball team came up with a heart-stopping 53-52 victory over visiting St. Francis-Watsonville on Wednesday.
“It was an amazing seesaw battle all the way to the wire,” head coach Kaden Bahner said. “It couldn’t have come at a better time.”
The Cougars had three players in double digits led by DJ Campos’ 12 points. Nick Cordova and Peter Hilkene had 10 apiece. Andrew Foster posted eight and Scott Rathi contributed seven in the win.
