Dear Editor:

I want to thank the Good Samaritans and Gilroy Police Department for helping me. Last week I was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Thomas Road. The guy who hit my car laughed as he sped away. A number of people stopped to help, including Dayrel, who was able to get his license plate number. Kristina and Rudy (both EMTs) stopped to see if I was OK. Jeff also stopped to give a witness statement, and a gentleman (I did not get his name) living nearby came out to sweep the street and offer assistance. Gilroy Police Officer Joseph Crivello was able to chase down the guy who hit my car and catch him. Good work and thanks to the two other assisting officers!

It was very refreshing to see that people would stop and offer assistance to a stranger. Thank you to everyone that stopped to help me and to the Gilroy Police Department for doing such great work!
