A handful of construction bid awards and contract approvals for facilities projects within the Gilroy Unified School District will be voted on during the regular Board of Education meeting this Thursday. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at 7810 Arroyo Circle. District staff recommends the School Board approve the following items, in addition to others listed here.
-Christopher High School Track and Field Project scoreboard: $1,500 contract increase for ARTIK to perform additional engineering required by the Division of State Architect to modify the foundation for the new scoreboard; the plans for which have increased in size.
-Testing and laboratory services requirements for the CHS Track and Field Project: $35,216.25 to contract Earth Systems Pacific to perform testing components required by the Division of State Architect.
-Christopher High School Track and Field Project: Award of $2,551,152 bid and contract with Granite Rock Company to complete the CHS track and field in the fall of 2014.
-Baseball backstop at Rucker Elementary School: $6,524 to contract Cal West Fence for the procurement and installation of a baseball backstop at Rucker.
-Gilroy High School Phase 2B: Award of $202,000 bid and contract with Premier Builders, Inc. for Phase 2B, which includes restroom relocation and the South Entrance Project for GHS. Work under this contract shall be completed no later than Feb. 17, 2014.
-Five new additional security cameras for the South Valley Middle School Modernization Project: Approval of a $9,950 contract with Superior Alarm Company for the procurement and installation of five new additional security cameras for the SVMS campus.
