Dear Editor:
As a member of the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce 2002 Citywide Christmas Program Committee, I want to thank all of the participants in Santa’s Jolly Walk Parade.
All of the entrants including the VFW Post 6309 Colorguard; Girl Scout Troop 1455; H. T. Bee, Hometown Buffet’s mascot; St. Mary’s Youth Group float; Brownie Troop 564; Studio 3 Dance Studio; The Grinch and Cindy Lou; Honey Bee Court Fire Department; GUSD decorated bus; Bonfante Gardens Theme Park Critters float; Gilroy High School Marching Band and Colorguard; Santa with his Celebrity Reindeer Team; and Gilroy Police Department Mounted Patrol put forth a lot of time and effort in preparing for the Jolly Walk Parade.
Whether they walked and sang, performed a tap dance, dressed in costume or decorated a vehicle, they were all festive and spirited, and did a great job in sharing holiday cheer.
Additionally, thank you to everyone who came downtown to enjoy the festivities. This year’s attendance increased and I hope that this year’s event will encourage a greater number of participants and spectators next year.
