Cierra Valdez scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a balk. Nicole Green had two hits for the Mission Valley Veterinary Cardiology Sunbirds. Holly Lam pitched six strong innings with 10 strikeouts for the victory. Infielder Kiana Camacho and catcher Abby Kienle were the defensive standouts.

Giants 2, Red Sox 1
Tyler Galloway had the only RBI of the game, sending Noah Vasquez home in the first inning of the Saturday game. Galloway and Alex Garcia got runners out at first and Kailo Castro recorded outs at second base. “The first game of the season was unbelievable,” said coach Craig Miner. “We’ve been rained out of practices and our first three games. But based on today, it will be an amazing season.”
