– YES, IF: the arts center is built, Gilroy gets a railroad museum, a parking structure is built, and if a couple of downtown blocks are leveled and we start over.
– My heart really wants to say yes, but if I am being honest, No.
– Thriving? No. Doing fantastically better? Yes!
– Yes. South County Housing Development is moving forward again and this is a big part of the downtown economic recovery. Also new restaurants and Bob at the Pool Hall is having old cars gather there once a month.
– Downtown Gilroy … thriving NO. Surviving YES. With all the empty office spaces downtown, to think Gilroy will be thriving in two years is extremely optimistic considering that even in good times five years ago, downtown was still suffering.
– It seems to be thriving now if you are the right nationality.
