THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:

Will you support extending expiring tax increases for 5 more years – which include state income taxes and vehicle license fees – on the June ballot?

– Undecided, but leaning towards yes as we’ve felt the hit and we are accustomed to paying the increased rate.

– Yes. We’re already paying them and the funds are much needed.

– YES!! No more cuts without new/renewed taxes. Reluctantly Yes. However, spending cuts and tax generation alone will not cure the problem. California is regulating itself out of the jobs/business market. The current budget proposal treats only the symptoms. Without regulatory reform, the disease goes merrily on!

– Yes. We need to stop this budget disaster now and this is one way to do it. Since we are paying it now, extending it just makes good sense. Undecided. I don’t know if the taxes will make a difference unless spending is under control. We have already had the tax and look at the situation we are still in!

– NO! California citizens are being sucked-dry by all of these taxes. Enough

is enough.

– Want to say NO but I am going to say “undecided”.

– No. Until we have flushed out the inefficiencies, incorporated accountability and fairly balanced the tax code/rates at all income levels and between large and small businesses, I can’t support these taxes. When I see that we are all working equally hard and paying the same price, I would consider some concessions. This is a great opportunity to rebuild a dated, unfair system. I hope the state makes the most of this and doesn’t just rely on taxing groups with the least political influence.

– No, Plenty of money can be found from looming concessions in public employee retirement benefits.
