As Open Enrollment for Medicare Advantage plans come to a close, CareMore Health Plan is offering its services to local seniors to sign up before the deadline ends on Saturday, December 7th. In order to educate seniors about their options, CareMore staff members will be available at the CareMore Care Center in Gilroy, 7888 Wren Ave., Bldg. C131, from 10 am to 1 pm. CareMore staff will speak to attendees in order to assist them in understanding any Medicare changes that may affect them, as well as the types of services that they should look for in a Medicare Advantage plan.

GILROY — When Gilroy Tennis Club members Mike Hansen, Paul Wheeler and Marco Renella brought their proposal to restore the Las Animas Veteran’s Park tennis courts to the City of Gilroy in mid-2012, they weren’t sure what to expect. They were asking for a hefty amount of money — $28,000 — but it was just a portion of what would be needed to complete the project — they’d take care of the rest, they assured the city. But with cities tightening their budgets across the country, the idea of allocating funds to restore tennis courts almost felt like a pipe dream.
