Haru Matsuri to celebrate Japanese culture in Morgan Hill

The Morgan Hill Haru Matsuri festival will celebrate the art, food and culture of Japan with Asian cuisine, traditional music, Tai Chi and martial demonstrations Sunday, April 13. The 52nd annual Haru Matsuri Japanese-American Spring Festival will take place at the Morgan Hil Buddhist Community Center, 16450 Murphy Avenue. The festival is also the Nor Cal Taiko Expo, as seven traditional Japanese Taiko drumming groups are scheduled to perform throughout the day. The free, all-day event will also feature historical and cultural exhibits, including a Nisei (second-generation Japanese-American) veterans display and a farmers market. The festival will take place 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
