The owner of a political display that has been criticized as racist and threatening has added what appears to be an effigy of President Barack Obama to the exhibit at the east Morgan Hill residence.
Santa Clara County Cattlemen’s Association to host fundraiser
The Santa Clara County Cattlemen’s Association will host an evening of western music, art and a gourmet beef dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Fortino Winery, located at 4525 Hecker Pass Highway in Gilroy. The event will feature an acoustic show performed by the Kelly McDonald Band, as well as a live auction of local western art. Cost is $50 per person and includes a beef dinner. Coat and blanket drive for the Gilroy Compassion Center
The Gilroy Compassion Center, a burgeoning homeless shelter located at 8425 Monterey Road that serves South County, is now collecting coats and blankets to distribute to those in need as winter approaches.
